Kito

Kito resemble a cephalopod. They are a tentacled being consisting almost entirely of brain matter that spend their early lives and certain portions of their later lives, immersed in water with a certain necessary mineral content to provide nutrients to them. They are unable to leave their watery home unless paired with a Luqui host at which time the pair form the symbiotic Lukquito being, with the kito essentially functioning as the brain for the host. The kito's tentacles attach to the brain stem and spinal cord of the Luqui in the back and two larger tentacles enter through the top of the head and emerge from the Luqui's eye sockets. Though this renders the host blind, the paired species' psionic abilities allows the use of the kito's inherent Truesight in the host.
When a Luqui host dies, if the kito survives it falls into a hibernation state in which it is essentially helpless. During this time it puts out a low level but powerful telepathic suggestion to all surrounding beings that will inspire an inherent push towards the nearest location in which the kito can be returned to a suitable water source for survival. Once there, the kito will broadcast a wider ranging telepathic pulse which only Luqui and other kito can detect in an effort to attract either a new suitable host or a Luqui that can return the kito to a kito hive until a suitable host is available.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Kito are highly intelligent creatures with inherent psionic and telepathic abilities and Truesight in a radius of 30 feet when unpaired  and 80 feet when inhabiting a host.

Kito can survive up to 400 years if able to pair with a line of hosts
