Personal history
Kru was the son of a green dragonborn Chieftain . His father died without passing on the secret of magical flight which set their bloodline above the others and thus Kru was at a disadvantage to the more conniving and personable Kral as the tribe got ready to pick a new leader. Kru desparately sought the secret of magical flight and would have done anything to attain it. A group of strangers appeared in the tribal territory just before the tribe were going to declare Kral the new leader, indicating that they might be able to provide the secret of flight.
Kral, panicking at this turn of events, attempted to assassinate Kru but was killed in the attempt. The strangers disappeared shortly thereafter, without revealing the secret he had sought, but without a rival Kru was appointed Chieftain regardless. Investigating an uncovered hidden tunnel within their tribal cavern, Kru discovered a carved stick with what seemed to be instructions for a ritual. With guidance from Ashaan the tribal shaman and his mate Myal, Kru performed the ritual which he believed would give him the power of magical flight that he had long sought after. However, the instructions were incomplete, and the ritual went wrong, unleashing a burst of Wild Magic. The entire tribe was mutated into a different form.
Kru, however, got what he wanted. In a way. The green dragonborn grew wings, and all were eventually able to fly. The cost, however, was great. The poison that the green dragonborn had been able to breathe began to affect them and, as a minute amount of the poison was present in every small breath they took, the green dragonborn literally began to destroy their own bodies from birth, drastically shortening their lifespans and leaving most in pain and susceptible to disease for much of their lives. Kru was cast out from the tribe, and died in the wilderness, alone and broken.
In time, the green dragonborn died out as a result of the mutations. Victims to the obsession of Kru.

Family Ties
Myal was Kru's mate. After the disastrous ritual that mutated the green dragonborn, however, she became one of the leading voices to expel him from the tribe, glossing over the fact that she had assisted him in performing the botched ritual and opting to save her own hide rather than stand by her mate.

Kru often mumbled to himself and was prone to interrupting others. He hummed to himself a lot.

Kru had a deep, resonant voice but spoke in a rapid cadence, his mind working faster than the ideas could come out of his mouth.
