The Cult of the Bleeding Eye
The Cult of the Bleeding Eye is a malicious secret-society, who seem to be dedicated to acquiring powerful magical artifacts through any means necessary. Their ultimate motives are shrouded in mystery.
Cult members wear dark red robes while carrying out cult business, although membership is mostly secret. Dedicated members of the cult have ritually scarred their faces, in the form of a vertical line crossing over the left eye. While in public, they may disguise this disfigurement through magical and non-magical means, in order to remain incognito.
The Cult was behind the heist of the Gem of Meilar from the Temple of Erivale. During this incident, the members of the cult who were involved were camped out at The Tomb of Grazak the Dragonslayer, at the foot of The Drakeseat Mountains.
Many of this group were killed after a member of the cult was tracked back to the tomb following the theft of the gem from Erivale, and the gem was recovered. This was not the full membership of the cult however, and their true strength remains unconfirmed.
Shortly after the events at The Tomb of Grazak the Dragonslayer, the remaining members of that particular cell of the cult were involved in the attempted theft of The Eye of Moments from Mo'Dai, The Chronomancer in the village of Wildmeadow. This incident caused not only their own deaths, but that of Mo'Dai, The Chronomancer, and the entire population of the village, as an errant spell struck The Eye of Moments, creating an initially unstable time-distortion field, which encased the village and some of the surrounding countryside.
Structure
The cult is led by a Grand Master; the identity of whom is a closely guarded secret, unknown even to many members of the cult themselves.
Public Agenda
While their ultimate aims remain shrouded in mystery, the cult seems to be hell-bent on acquiring artifacts of magical power and significance, employing a variety of illicit tactics to achieve this, including coercion, kidnapping, theft and murder.
