Caheath Commonwealth (kay-HE-TH)

Written by ajamie

The Caheath Commonwealth is a major continent on the planet of Valloth. No central governing body, as each city and town governs itself. The country is considered a safe space for the races of Valloth, with a diverse population. Occupants include (in order of most commonly found): Dwarves, humans, halflings, gnomes, half-elves and elves of all and many others. The landscape is also in possession of an Underdark City.

Etymology

The word "Caheath" is a modified version of "hearthland", the name of the homeland of ancient dwarves that first settled the land. The term was coined by Nabaec Jademaster, first prince of the duergar that settled the land.

Geography

The terrain is incredibly mountainous and can be difficult to navigate without assistance from a native dwarf or gnome guide. The most dominant feature of the region are the Caheath Mountains to the western border. This is the highest mountain range in Valloth, and serves as a home to dwarves of all kinds, along with a wide variety of mountain dwelling creatures. The locations of which are not entirely mapped due to the dangers of traversing these lands. Streaming down from these mountains are a number of rivers which often form into lakes

Center

Away from the western border, towards the center and east are a large number of human and dwarf dominated towns and cities. It is here that the population of the Commonwealth truly thrive in this era of anarchy and strife. Most notably the City of Caheath, which is often considered the Gem of the Commonweath.

East

Further east still is what is commonly known as "No Man's Land". Regions with this title vary in terrain, but one thing remains the same: they are uninhabitable by sapient beings due to the dangers of monsters, beasts, dragons, and other such creatures that claim the land as their own. These areas are unmapped, and not much is known about them beyond their climate. In this area in particular, the land consists of vast desserts and ruins.
