Slebbosal Merchant Guild

Nestled on the road between Tamora and Hiroholm, the Slebbosal Merchant Guild is both a corporation and settlement that exist simultaneously. Formerly on of the premier merchant and trading guilds of the Kratocracy Empire, it has now fallen on hard times and bad name due to recently uncovered connections to underground markets/businesses. Breaking away from these connections have cost the family and corporation much in capital, good faith, and their access to varied markets. It is hoped that by sending on of the Noble House of Slebbosal to Noble Lands will allow for them to be reinvigorated and restore their good name.

The entire corporation was founded to support the Noble House of Slebbosal and provide positions of influence and employment to the bulk of the family members.

• The corporation still possesses access to the trade houses and caravansaries that is had setup across the Kratocracy Empire when it was as the height of its power, but they are frequented less.
• Large reserves of wealth, in the form of Platinum & Gold Kratocracy Gilding, is still available due to centuries of shrewd business practice. Most of this it tied up in expeditions and large trade deals that needed massive quantities of capital to be considered fruitful
• Several large trade caravans
• Though greatly reduced in the amount of wealth it has currently, it still possesses access to several hundreds of Platinum & Gold Gilding so that it can survive and rebuild itself. Several homes and buildings are owned by the family outright so that they can use them as collateral for other ventures while still being used for the commercial corporation to create more capital and income. Several members of the family have been able to amass wealth enough to help them live without ever needing to work and continue engaging in charity work.

History

A Veldaken noble family that has been around for over 2,500 years, it gained its nobility status after making a large fortune in commerce and trade deals, being granted so directly by the Emperor at that time. Working hard over their century lifespan’s, the family itself continued to ascend to greater heights in the empire weathering every great war and all adverse conditions that occurred for the Kratocracy Empire. It was only during the last century that it put both its money and the commercial organization that it ran got involved in the black market and underground activities. Though it brought wealth and access to markets they never had before it all came crashing down when investigators for the Empire uncovered missives and documents that linked them to several criminal organizations. While this was not enough to actually remove them from their status of nobility, it did incur massive fines and penalties to both family and company as it went against the ideals of the Kratocracy itself. Furthermore, the public lost much trust in them and it is only in the last few years that they have seen and upturn in the use of their company again.
