Bastion of the First World

Representing Astagua's non-academic interests in Eclorea, the Bastion of the First World is a renovated Eclorean ruin. Though the purpose of the original building is unknown, its cathedral-like construction made its transition to religious function an easy one. In lieu of worshiping Mielliki, Goddess of the Forest, practitioners instead worship what little they know of the Ecloshar with a focus on Valsarat, God of Resonance.   Unlike The Timber Keep, the Bastion of the First World is intolerant of other worship. Part of this rigidity is undoubtedly a result of the majority of the congregation being Haki, whose children have soured their tolerance of conflicting beliefs.   Archbishop Athlen, head of the Bastion, collects Eclorean relics for the church. Too old or proud to go searching for them himself, he pays great sums of money to those willing to donate. The Bastion claims to have nearly half a dozen relics in their possession, though they are seldom on display.
