The Timber Keep
On the other side of the district from the Bastion of the First World is the Timber Keep. Constructed of interwoven, still growing trees, it is a living structure of beautiful form and function. The altar inside is an arching root of one of these trees, and the most devout followers believe they've seen Mielliki's face in the bark when communing with her.
The Goddess is fair and kind, and the congregation aims to be an extension of that. Those other gods which Mielliki is aligned with, gods of nature and life, are permitted to be worshiped in the Keep as well.
As a whole, Evergrove aims to worship Mielliki, hoping their faith in her will assist the regrowth of the forest. The Ilaen admire the Hakis' devotion to the goddess but don't share their hope in its effectiveness; thus, the sacrilege of floramancy was born.
So great is Mielliki's hatred for floramancy that its practitioners are fatally cursed when they enter any of her places of worship. The curse manifests in an ironic way - those who succumb to it begin growing bark on their skin, where movements become excrutiating. Finding respite in staying motionless allows roots to erupt from their feet, where they are locked in place before completing the transformation into a tree.
