Stonegulch Pass
An arid valley connecting Karinga to the rest of Astagua, the eastern opening of the Stonegulch Pass is lush with the growing reach of Borderwood. It quickly transitions to silt-laden, gravelly terrain, making plant growth and travel equally difficult. As the largest valley that cuts through the Cairnbrow Mountains, it is a strategic bottleneck; one that paid dividends for Astagua during the war.
It is prone to flooding during the spring from snow melt and torrential rains, but it drains quickly into underground resevoirs and the many tributaries off of it that feed the Seneng River. During the spring it is replete with life from both Borderwood and the Cairnbrow Mountains, leading to rare fights between otherwise ecologically separated animals and monsters.
A tower sits at either end of the valley, each visible to the other. These towers are used to signal one another should Vescanian forces make landfall in Karinga. Apart from gnolls that occasionally lash out from Borderwood and the arid climate of the valley, it is a relatively safe place to travel through.
