Areas of the city include the Inner city, outer city, upper city, lower city. Wraps a bit around the lake. The Outer City is the area outside of the biggest iron walls, usually farmsteads of individual keeps. The Inner City is more middle class, holding well-established merchants and stores. It also holds the town square which contains the Citadel, Coliseum, and Thorn. The Upper City is the highest point of the city where the wealthiest live. The Lower City are the slums, the poorest of the poor stuck inside the iron walls.
Hero’s rest has the lion’s share of iron, results in a city heavier, faster, and brighter than nature allowed. Fat with spoils and still somehow starved. Unimaginably rich and wretchedly poor.
Hero's Rest is under House Glore, prime rulers of all of Iron. Emperor Leocius Glore is the Blood of the Last King, Seen by the First Witness, Emperor of Iron, Wielder of the Stormspear, and Iron Lord of Virnach. His son is the Duke of Hero's Rest and oversees the King's Council and everything within the city, while his father looks beyond.

The Thorn
A large spire that towers over the rest of the city of Hero’s Rest that is home to Soulomancy. It is sharp and pointy, looming over the city like a finger ready to slam down on the people below. It is situated next to the Hallowed Hall and the Conqueror’s Citadel. The Academy employs a large amount of Soulomancers who work as teachers and scientists at the same time. They are constantly working to test new components and trying to learn/make new kinds of spells. The system is so new that there is still so much to unlock. Within are the lodgings for those studying or teaching here, able to house all because of the rarity of Soulomancers. There are several stages within the Thorn that relate to student levels.- Folio – This is one who is the top of their field. They have published works of various magical substance and hold a fully completed Spellbook. Shake, and the Dean.
- Quarto – The standard for Professors and Soulomancer graduates. They hold an advanced spellbook rife with spells and are very powerful and knowledgeable. Most view this as the ultimate goal, Folio being only for those who dedicate their life to study.
- Imperial Octavo – Final year students. Often full time working but still studying.
- Super Octavo – Third years. Specialize in an element now and also work with a House.
- Royal Octavo – Second years. Learn to cast spells with more than one component.
- Crown Octavo – First years and new students to the Thorn. Nicknamed ‘Crownings’ because they are so fresh their babe head is still crowning out of their mother. Focus entirely on holding souls, and the theory of spells.

- “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
- “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

It is said their eyes are pools of darkness. Although not descendents of the Hero Veler (none in Vaskeer are as Veler swore to chastity upon his meeting with the God Ethos), they are close as you can get as they were chosen by Veler to rule over the entirety of the land that would become the Iron Emprie.
