Helioraspace

#places #geography #dimensions The material plane of Helioraspace is a realm within a great crystalline sphere that contains a sun, [[Heliora]], and twelve planets which orbit it. Between these celestial bodies is the empty void of space.   The creation of Helioraspace is known as [[The Weaving of the Tapestry]], which began with the greater gods known as the [[Powers that Be]] coming into existence and creating the crystalline sphere to separate the malignant [[Exogens]], cosmic beings of chaos who threatened the goals of the Powers that Be: to create a realm capable of sustaining life. The Powers that Be then created the planets and the heavens, before bringing about plant and animal life to the planet [[Vea]]. These lifeforms were then allowed to live in peace for a whole year, known as [[The Verdant Year]], before humanoid life was introduced to Vea.   Along with the planet Vea, the Powers that Be created numerous other celestial bodies, including [[Heliora]], the sun at the centre of the universe, which has the following nine inner planets and three outer planets: [[Elathir]], [[Nefthys]], [[Zorath]], [[Xyra]], Vea, [[Keth'syr]], [[Iryndor]], [[Feyrune]], [[Kael'thas]], [[Ash'tar]], [[Tythiria]], and [[Pyrthas]].   The Powers that Be and the [[Theoroi]] (lesser gods) created eight different species within Vea, each of which have distinct sub-species. The seven species are the following: 1. [[Humana]]: more commonly referred to as the race of man, these beings are known for their immense potential. While incredibly diverse, most Humana are born equal in terms of their physical nature. Other species usually see Humana as a blank slate of sorts, but with the ability to become anything. Alongside [[Human|Humans]], [[Halfling|Halflings]] and [[Kalashtar]] are also Humana. 2. [[Fae]]: often characterised by their natural affinity for magic or to the natural world, the Fae of Helioraspace are usually regarded by others species as 'otherworldly' due to their ethereal presence. [[Elf|Elves]], [[Fairy|Fairies]], [[Centaur|Centaurs]], [[Satyr|Satyrs]], and [[Firbolg|Firbolgs]] are amongst the sub-species of Fae. 3. [[Stoutkind]]: a reclusive species, who often prefer the comfort of their burrows and caves beneath the surface of the world. Stoutkind often shine as skilled crafters and tireless workers. [[Dwarf|Dwarves]] and [[Gnome|Gnomes]] are both Stoutkind. 4. [[Goblinae]]: a cunning assemblage of goblinoid races, who thrive on resourcefulness, adaptability, and tribal camaraderie, who often live in insular but nonetheless thriving societies marked by strategic minds and a knack for survival. [[Goblin|Goblins]], [[Hobgoblin|Hobgoblins]], [[Bugbear|Bugbears]] and [[Verdan|Verdans]] are all Goblinae. 5. [[Monoliths]]: a race of robust and steadfast individuals, harnessing incredible physical might and endurance, often with deep-rooted connections to their ancestral traditions, who prioritise protection of kin and being a symbol of resilience. Amongst Monoliths are [[Orc|Orcs]], [[Goliath|Goliaths]] and [[Minotaur|Minotaurs]]. 6. [[Faunidae]]: brings of a dual nature who draw strength from both their humanoid intellect, instinct and impulse, as well as the raw, primal desires and their place within nature. Faunidae embody a deep connection to the wilderness and their societies often live in harmony with their surroundings. Many different beings are Faunidae, from [[Tabaxi]] and [[Leonin]], to [[Yuan-Ti]], [[Aarakocra]] and [[Lizardfolk]]. 7. [[Drakonix]]: from fierce strength to cunning intellect, Drakonix intertwine their existence with the legendary might and mistique of dragonkind, weaving a sense of awe and respect through their cultures. Drakonix are very easily identified, and consist of [[Dragonborn]] and [[Kobold|Kobolds]]. 8. [[Monarchus]]: being conduits to other realms, Monarchus often personify celestial or infernal heritages, with otherworldly characteristics from beyond the veil of the material plane. Monarchus inspire both awe and curiosity among other races, and consist of [[Aasimar]] and [[Tiefling|Tieflings]].

History

After the Year of Blossoming, the gods brought sentient life to the realm. They all placed groupings of seven different species across Vea. These seven species are the following:
  • Humana: more commonly referred to as the race of man, these beings are known for their immense potential. Humana are sometimes seen as a 'blank slate' of a being, but with the capability to become anything.
  • Fey: creatures originally born from Fey spirits, characterised by their natural affinity for magic. They are usually regarded as one of the most 'unusual' species by others due to their otherworldly presence.
  • _: a more reclusive species, who prefer the comfort of burrows and caves beneath the world's surface.
  • Monoliths: by far the physically largest of these seven different species, Manatur _.
  • Beastialia: animalistic beings
  • Adeliae: lizard-like beings with
  • Monarchus: beings closest to the gods, who are regarded by others as being the most devoted to their beliefs.
  •         Precursor species:
  • humana: human, halfling, kalashtar
  • fey: elf, fairy, firbolg, satyr
  • monarchus: aasimar, tiefling, leonin
  • faunidae: yuan-ti, tabaxi
  • monoliths: goliath, minotaur, orc
  • stoutkind: dwarf, gnome
  • goblinae: bugbear, goblin, hobgoblin, verdan
  • drakonix: dragonborn, kobold, lizardfolk
  •       After the year of blossoming, the gods began the process of introducing their respective species to the world. While they were all created at the same time, each species was made with a different number of members. Out of the major species, humans and goblins were created in very large amounts, whereas elves and dragons were created in tiny amounts, just to name a few. The idea behind the gods who created large numbers of their respective species was to create each being with a blank slate - granting the ability to have high levels of potential to be able to live up to. On the other hand, the beings created in very small amounts were bestowed with powerful gifts and had already lived up to a large amount of their potential just by being born. At this point, the gods chose to walk the earth with their mortal followers for a year, during which they would guide and support them in the new world. This so-called 'year of enlightenment' was a time of peace, as the gods instructed their followers not to wage war or create conflicts; a stance some deities encouraged sticking to after their leaving, but this was not the case for all. A number of the more chaotic and evil gods directly encouraged starting wars upon their leaving.   Upon the leaving of the gods at the end of the second year, each race began to intermingle, and thus began the first age of the realm. A number of the most important events in the realm are as follows: The ancient black dragon Faznommilarik began attacking a significant proportion of Asharay, leading to the destruction of the bronze tree of Isrus, causing a plague of mushrooms to begin growing across the nation. [29] A massive civil war in the Yellow Empire, resulting in a significant schism, radically changing local politics. [44] The downfall of the Dark Empire of Flames, a powerful evil empire led by the Dark Empress Salvatrice, the scion of the Drow goddess Lolth. [76] The death of Father Imu, the leader of the Ivaris Dynasty, resulting in the question of which of the dynasty's great houses will take up the mantle of leadership. [98]
