Vea

Vea is a planet located in the Heliora star system. It has an orbital period of around 549.8 days and a slightly elliptical orbit with a semi-major axis of about 1.35 astronomical units (AU) and an eccentricity of around 0.015. The planet rotates on its axis every 24.6 hours, with an axial tilt of about 23.5 degrees. Vea has a diameter of approximately 11,468 kilometres, a surface area of about 412.4 million square kilometres, and a mass of roughly 5.64 x 10^24 kilograms. Its distance from Heliora varies between about 1.33 and 1.37 AUs.   Vea receives approximately 1,291 W/m² of solar radiation per unit area due to its proximity to Heliora and the star's luminosity. The planet has an albedo of 0.55, indicating that it reflects about 55% of the solar radiation that it receives.   The atmospheric pressure at sea level on Vea is approximately 1,204,845 Pascals. Assuming a simplified model of the planet's atmosphere, its average temperature is estimated to be around 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit, 288 Kelvin). This estimate does not take into account factors such as cloud cover and atmospheric circulation.

Geography

The planet's surface is around 70% covered in water. The actual land on its surface mainly consists of one massive continent, with a large number of other, smaller islands that range in size dotted all across the globe. The planet has two polar ice caps, Ioyesh and the Northern Frostlands, of which Ioyesh has a far larger size. All manner of naturally-occurring biomes can be found, from plains, to deserts, to tundras, to taigas. While the majority of the planet's geography is naturally occurring, there are a number of notable locations where more artificial geography can be found. This most often stems from the intense use of magic (usually the transmutation school of magic) but sometimes may be due to entirely non-magical means, such as large-scale resource gathering.

Ecosystem

The planet contains a large number of flora and fauna, with the majority of individual genuses and species being regionally separated; mostly due to the fact that the world is still young, so here haven't been many significant reasons for any substantial migration. Across the planet as a whole, there are a very large number of different categories of creatures that naturally exist, with a wide variety of humanoids, animals, dragons, beasts, and giants being the most abundant. Fey, fiends, undead, constructs, elementals, aberrations, celestials, monstrosities, oozes, plants and undead are less common, and far less naturally occurring.

History

Vea was formed three days after the conception of the realm, along with all the other major planets in the Nova solar system. At this point it lacked an atmosphere survivable for mortal creatures, and so the Gods flooded the planet with an ocean, and bestowed plant life all across the planet, followed by animals found all across the multiverse. The gods then waited for an entire year, known as the year of blossoming, allowing the plant and animal life to naturally grow independently in an untouched environment. This led to some extinctions, as in many regions the plant and animal life were incompatible, but ultimately the world's ecosystem started to settle.   At the end of the year of blossoming, each of the [gods in charge of the pact: Primes] began the process of introducing their respective species to the world. The seven [Primes] each bestowed their respective species to the land, and granted them each grand gifts and teachings.   [human god] created Humans in 3[?] locations across Vea, notably creating many dozens of thousands     [human god] bestowed Humans in 3[?] locations: [currently Ourona], [currently Yellow Empire] and [tbd].       After the year of blossoming, the gods began the process of introducing their respective species to the world. While they were all created at the same time, each species was made with a different number of members. Out of the major species, humans and goblins were created in very large amounts, whereas elves and dragons were created in tiny amounts, just to name a few. The idea behind the gods who created large numbers of their respective species was to create each being with a blank slate - granting the ability to have high levels of potential to be able to live up to. On the other hand, the beings created in very small amounts were bestowed with powerful gifts, and had already lived up to a large amount of their potential just by being born. At this point, the gods chose to walk the earth with their mortal followers for a year, in which they would guide and support them in the new world. This so-called 'year of enlightenment' was a time of peace, as the gods instructed their followers not to wage war or create conflicts; a stance some deities encouraged sticking to after their leaving, but this was not the case for all. A number of the more chaotic and evil gods directly encouraged starting wars upon their leaving.   Upon the leaving of the gods at the end of the second year, each race began to intermingle, and thus began the first age of the realm. A number of the most important events in the realm are as follows:
  • The ancient black dragon Faznommilarik began attacking a significant proportion of Asharay, leading to the destruction of the bronze tree of Isrus, causing a plague of mushrooms to begin growing across the nation. [29]
  • A massive civil war in the Yellow Empire, resulting in a significant schism, radically changing local politics. [44]
  • The downfall of the Dark Empire of Flames, a powerful evil empire led by the Dark Empress Salvatrice, the scion of the Drow goddess Lolth. [76]
  • The death of Father Imu, the leader of the Ivaris Dynasty, resulting in the question of which of the dynasty's great houses will take up the mantle of leadership. [98]
