First Floor, Columbia Falls High School

First Floor   1. Entrance portico   2. Entrance vestibules – A 35’ by 45’ room. A pair of double doors leads in from the outside and three single doors lead further into the building. The sides of the room are flanked by floor to ceiling windows. There is a blue banner stretched across above the three single doors (3’ by 15’) which has the stylized picture of a wildcat and gold lettering: “Columbia Falls High School” “Home of the Wildcats”. In both of the corners near the pair of double doors are piles of muddy boots and galoshes. To the left of the three single doors is a coat/hat rack and four wall hooks with six coats, a dozen scarves and an assortment of hats. Spray painted in red on the faux stone floor tiles is the following: “What Doesn’t Kill You Gives You a Set of Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms and a Dark Sense of Humor”   3. Hall – lockers line the wall of the hallway.   4. Day Room – This appears to have originally been the high school’s front office. Permanent marks in the carpet show where the counter, desks, and filing cabinets once were. The room now looks to serve the purpose of a living room or parlor. A 75” television hangs on the short all nearest the hallway door. A leather sectional large enough to seat eight comfortably is positioned in the center room for television viewing. There is a 3’ tall cabinet under the tv with a DVD player, about two or three dozen DVDs, a PlayStation 4, and a dozen video games. There are two doors opposite the hallway door that lead to the offices of the former principal and vice-principal. The placard on the left door reads: “Jon Konan – Principal”. The door on the right reads: “John Thompson – Vice Principal”. The two offices are still furnished for their original purpose with desks, chairs, file cabinets, and personal effects of the missing administrators. On the floor next to the sectional is a hardcase attaché.   5. Cafeteria – This is a large high school cafeteria. In the center of the room is a large folding table with lockable wheels. Along the wall to the left when entering from the hallway are dozens of other folding tables, folded, and rolled up against the wall blocking the window and the view outside.   6. Infirmary – This room is filled with a hodgepodge of medical equipment in cabinets and carts including two crash kits. There is an examination table and a surgical table in the center of the room.   7. Classroom – There is an autoclave in this room.   8. Kitchen – This is the kitchen. It appears to be equipped for regular use.   9. Walk-in Refrigerator - A variety of refrigerated food stuffs is stored in here. It seems to be of a variety and amount for a family or group of a half-a-dozen or so individuals. While the food is fresh, it seems to be vintage and from the 1960s.   10. Walk-in Freezer - A variety of frozen food stuffs is stored in here. It seems to be of a variety and amount for a family or group of a half-a-dozen or so individuals. While the food is fresh, it seems to be vintage and from the 1960s.   11 – 12. Unused Walk-in Refrigerator/Freezer - Empty and offline.   13. Washroom   14. Pantry - A variety of dry goods food stuffs is stored in here. It seems to be of a variety and amount for a family or group of a half-a-dozen or so individuals. While the food is fresh, it seems to be vintage and from the 1960s.   15. Loading Bay   16 – 17. Storage Closets – This storage closet is filled with stationery and office supplies.   18 – 22. Classrooms – This room is empty.   23. Chemistry Lab – This room is setup and equipped as a high school chemistry lab.   24. Biology Lab - This room is setup and equipped as a high school biology lab.   25 – 31. Storage Closets – This closet is empty.   32. Drama Classroom – This room has 40 theater chairs (5 rows of 8) facing a small stage. There are posters for various theater productions hanging on the wall.   33. Gym – This a high school gym with a basketball court and collapsible bleachers against all four walls.   34. Theater – Up on the stage is a set designed to look like a farmyard. The stage itself is blocked off with caution tape. Near the stage edge in an empty 2’x2’4’ cardboard box with bold black sharpie letters that spell out “KEEP OFF THE STAGE!!!”   35. Girls Dressing Room – This is a theater dressing room with six makeup tables & mirrors along wall.   36. Costume Closet – The clothing in this closet is from a wide variety of historical time periods as indicated by dates and locations (eg 17th Century France) labeled on the hangers. The costumes are exceptionally well made and durable, more so than costumes for a high school theater program should be.   37 - 38. Props Closets – This closet contains various props for theater productions.   39. Men’s Restroom   40. Women’s Restroom   41. Boys Dressing Room - This is a theater dressing room with six makeup tables & mirrors along wall.   42. Boys Locker Room & Showers   43. Girls Locker Room & Showers   44. Swimming Pool – The 16’ deep pool is empty   45. Shop Class – This room is setup and equipped as a high school shop class with a variety of machining tools, tables, presses along with hand and power tools.   46 – 48.
