Lowtown District

The Lowtown District of Amoth is the smallest district in the city, made up mostly of longhouses for the many industrial workers that dwell in the city, storage warehouses for excess trade goods, and some of the less savory production buildings, such as tanneries and dyers.

History

The Lowtown District is the newest district within Amoth, having been formed shortly after the beginning of the year 231 AS. It was made via the erecting of a large imposing wooden wall that separates it from the Shambles District.   The inhabitants of said district became tired of dealing with the small petty thievery and ransacking that would occur at the warehouses and dealing with the varied brawls that would occur during certain influxes of Blacklands traders. According to the written histories of Amoth, a young man, who held a tremendous sway within the working peoples of what would then become Lowtown approached the head of the District, Azer, and offered to remedy the problems caused by the ransacking, as long as he was given a portion of the district. Azer outright refused his offer, and even laughed him out of his office. a few months later, he was forced to concede to the young mans demand as the ransacking increased nearly to the point of economically crippling the district, and the Lowtown District was officially born.   The young man in question, Quickpaw, was quick to erect a massive wooden wall, separating Lowtown and the Shambles permanently, gaining himself control over the majority of the storage of trade goods within the city, as well as a large portion of the production factories there in.
