Anaya
The southern peninsula of the great northern continent, known as Anaya, is divided into two major regions by the jagged Bonebreak Mountains. West and south of the Bonebreaks are the provinces, the realms of the dragon-princes; the term "Anaya" usually refers to this part of the region. The area between the mountains and the western coast, called Midir after the kingdom that once ruled there, is a geologically and politically unstable no man's land plagued by proteans.
Geography
The Bonebreak Mountains split the continent, and the provinces cluster on the southern and western coasts. The forested region of Midir, bordering the mountains to its south and continental Dae Ondra to the north, was made geologically and ecologically unstable with the emergence of Nexus and is overrun by protean beasts. Young dragons with few to no followers contest their hold on the region, making it a constantly shifting patchwork of ephemeral territories. Less ambitious wyrmlings prefer to lair alone in the wilds of Vrann or Khaedar, where they are less likely to encounter rivals, but far from the provinces they will encounter hostility from local humanoids. The plains to the west of the mountains are dominated by the River of Tongues and its many forks and tributaries, with marshes springing up seasonally in particularly low-lying areas.
