Demonfall

The mightiest volcano of Lenwir towers high into the sky, looking out over the Flametip mountains to the north and the boiling sea to the south from its own bay. The great volcano is said to have sprung up when a great prince of devils was cast down in combat and smote upon the ground. His impact sank the land around him into the sea and the volcano spouted from his body. Whether the tale bears true or not has been lost to history, but none-the-less it attracts many to its shores, none good. Cultist camps and devil worshippers seek to commune with their masters here and many find their answers. During particularly tumultuous times Demonfall is wracked with explosions and earthquakes, shaking the ground for hundreds of kilometres around. Many believe it will explode one day, vaporising the islands and bay it sits within, ushering in the next invasion of Venya.

History

During the Age of Strife, Heihuin, a sorcerer of dark repute built a tower upon Demonfall's slope, harnesses its malevolent magic for his own purposes. Over time his power and influence grew. Hundreds flocked to his power and his following grew. He conquered a large swathe of southern-eastern Sabal and the Flametip Mountains and ruled over this area for 200 years. He was eventually defeated by The Emperor during his unification war's conclusion in 2245AC and the land was purged of all that followed the dark sorcerer. Though pockets fled and exist to this day, hiding amongst the populace.
