Frederick Reiner
Frederick Reiner
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Frederick was found in amongst the rubble following the Weissman Mining Accident.
While recovering, he was noted to struggle with speaking the language, reading, and writing along with near total amnesia. Eventually, Frederick was placed in the care of the Church of Sone and eventually came to work in it as priest.
Education
Frederick studied under some of the clergy from the Church of Sone following his recovery. Once he gained a grasp of the language, he proved to excel in academics and quickly earned a place among the teachers.
Employment
Worked as a low-level teacher within the Church of Sone. Though he enjoyed his work and duties, Frederick transferred to Gavan Weissman's education project.
During the Meridan War, Frederick enlisted as a medic/clergy in service to the country he had come to call home.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Despite clearly struggling with language (both verbal and written), Frederick was able to study and quickly grasp the language to the point that he was able to gain a teaching position in the Church.
Mental Trauma
It's believed that Frederick's struggles with language and amnesia were caused by being caught in the Weissman Mining Accident.
The Meridan War also seems to be tied to mental scars, though it is unclear if the episodes associated with his experiences during the conflict are solely from the combat he witnessed or something prior to the Mining Accident.
Morality & Philosophy
Frederick loves academics and teaching, appreciating virtually any subject that crosses his path. He will even study tomes on the mechanics of the different schools of magic for the sake of shear curiosity, though he does try to be more discreet with such subjects.
Despite his enthusiasm, he also feels a sense of responsibility with the knowledge he builds for himself and teaches to his students, understanding that some subjects can be troublesome if handled irresponsibly (ie magic).
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Frederick has a bottomless thirst for knowledge and seeks to understand all that he can no matter the subject.
Following his experiences in the Meridan War, Frederick considers how the knowledge he collects may be used to foster understanding.
