Archbishop

The head of the Church of Rosaris, the Archbishop serves as the spiritual leader of Vestria.

Qualifications

Candidates for the holy position often need to demonstrate not only their faith in the church's tenets and the leadership needed to guide the continent's flock, but also be above reproach and of sound mind.

Requirements

The church requires that a prospective Archbishop needs to have served as a bishop for at least eight years before they can become eligible for candidacy.

Appointment

When the previous Archbishop passes or abdicates their position, the bishops gather within the Grand Cathedral and determine who to elevate to the holy office.    The process begins with bishops putting forth names to be considered. None are allowed to put forth their own name and are required to suggest candidates from among their brothers.   The pool of candidates is then put through a round of voting in which three names are struck from the list. The process repeats until the list of names is whittled down to a manageable count of at most five.   There is final vote held for the shortened list of candidates with who ever has the majority selected as the new Archbishop.

Duties

To be Archbishop is to be an example of piety and faithful virtue in service to the church.

Responsibilities

The Archbishop is charge with officiating major events for the church as well as maintaining relgious and diplomatic relations with the kingdoms of Vestria.

Benefits

Being the head of the church grants the Archbishop a not inconsiderable amount of political influence amongst the faithful as well as sufficient authority over church funds and resources.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Archbishop is the only member of te church allowed to carry the Rosaris Miter in an official capcity.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

An Archbishop can be forced to step down and abdicated their position if they are proven to be unfit or unable to execute the duties of the holy office. Most often, this is brought up due to concerns over old age.
