St. Anne's Church

A minor Rosarine church located in one of the poorer districts of Olbrin, St. Anne's houses an orphange and clinic that provides shelter for the young and unfortunate.

Purpose / Function

The chapel serves as spiritual center for the slums as well as a source of aid for the community in the form of providing a small clinic and orphange.

Alterations

The chapel was supposedly a station for Order of the Rose in the early days of the city. As Olbrin expanded its boundaries, it eventually came to envelope the chapel and the area around it.    Once a part of the city proper, the chapel's barricks were converted into a dormitory for housing orphans and single mothers while the main building transitioned from a house of worship to clinic to heal the sick and injured.

Architecture

The church consists of two buildings set on a plot of land connected by a covered walkway.   The main building houses the clinic while the auxilery building serves as a dormitory for orphans, their caretakers, and the medical staff for the clinic.   The leftover land is set aside as a recreational space for the children as well as the occasional outdoor lesson by their caretakers.

History

The church fell on hard financial times within recent years. Many, especially those that depended on the aid the chapel provided, feared that St. Anne's would be forced to close.   The crisis was averted by the recently appointed Deacon Bertram Reinhart, who raised the necessary funds and reorganized the chapel's finances to make things more sustainable.   However, Reinhart's actions have been a point of contention in the slums as some believe that he was only able to stablize the chapel's finances by withholding resources from elven members of the district. Both the church and Reinhart have denied these accusations, the latter defending his preceved bias as simply being judicious in how resources are spent.
