Bakeneko

We don't have much on Bakeneko. All we know comes from a myth told in old trexts. Supposedly, he is a powerful demon and will most likely be after his mask. Whatever the case, if he is in Violem, doubt its for a vacation.

A shapeshifting demon that feeds on the fears of mortal beings. The more fear it consumes, the more powerful the Bakeneko becomes. When walking the realms, the demon often wears a horned mask to conceal its true face until it is ready to feast on the screams of mortals.
The demon has an unhealthy obsession witht the cat species known as Jynx. With their unique ability to live multiple lives, the demon can feed on the same Jynx several times before they truly die from fear.

A Legend of Fear & Bravery:

The legend of fear and bravery came from a fairy imformant to The Ivory Champions during the age of exploration. The tale talks of the Lonely Citadel, that wasn't always lonely. It use to be a bustling centre for fairies of the Western regions. But that all changed when a young and foolish fairy meddled in things they did not understand.
They were attempting magic beyond their control and ended up summoning a creature from the realm of souls. But this creature was no angel, instead a demon that fed on the fears of others. The demon made quick work of the people of the citdael. Revealing his face to the masses and scaring people to death. With each scream the demon grew stronger and stronger. Fairies fled, flew away as fast as they could to escape the quickly spreading reign of this demon of fear.
The one who released him felt a heavy weight on their shoulders. Being responsible for all of this. The demon. The fear. The fall of the Citadel. So the young fairy set out to try and stop this demon. They called to the gods to aid them on this impossible mission but they did not seem to hear. but that did not stop the fairy, for they were brave. They walked through the now empty paths of the citadel and upto the throne of this new demon overlord. Staring it in the face, ready for a fight.
The demon simply laughed and took off his mask, revealing his true face. Expecting the fairy to die of fright, instead they simply stood there. A soul so brave they could see the true face of the demon. So the fairy and the demon commenced a long and bloody battle that lasted all day and night. by the time the sun rose once more, the fairy and the demon were weak. They could not endure this much longer and soon one of them had to fall.
The fairy took a deep breath, summoning the last ounce of strength they had. When all of a sudden, a name popped inside the head of the fairy. A name they did not know until now. As if a gift from the gods, this name appeared in the younf fairy's mind. They took one more deep breath and launched themself at the demon. Screaming this names as they did so. BAKENEKO! Upon hearing its name, the demon of fear felt scared for the first time. Pausing in the moment long enough for the fairy to make one final blow. Bakeneko was struck down and sent back to the hell where it came from. Leaving behind the mask it once wore at the feet of the brave fairy.
The citadel was saved but none returned. The brave fairy who summoned the demon of fear chose to stay in the silent fortress as punishment for the fate they caused. Guarding the mask of Bakeneko until the day they died inside the Lonely Citadel.

Actions:

Cold Touch

The demon of fear catches you in its clutches which makes your blood turn cold. 1d10 melee damage, chance to freeze upon a critical hit.

Possess

The spirit swirls into the air and forces its essence into a targets body, choking them as it does so. Bakeneko takes on the stats and abilites of the target possessed.

Scream

The piercing sound of its screams makes you quiver in pain as it rings in your ears. 1d10 ranged damage, chance to stun upon a critical hit.

True Face

Bakeneko takes off its mask to reveal its true face, only the bravest can bare witness to it. Causes any target in direct eyeline to be given the frighten condition for 1 round.

Charm Immune

Immune to charms and other mind based magic.
