Luskin Meat
Irresistible
Walking around the parade setup in the town square, you don't know what to focus on first. Perhaps the two lean men juggling fireballs at an impressive pace. Or perhaps the stocky man shouting about all the trinkets and necklaces from exotic lands. But it is all too overwhelming, that is until you hear a calming voice in the crowd of excitement. You turn and shuffle your way through passerby until you reach a crowd of children, patiently sat on the floor. Surrounding an older woman with colourful clothing and an old notebook full of pages that look they are about to burst from the bind.
Her calming voice reminds you of your nanna. Old and frail, but full of warmth and patience for younger generations. The colourful woman, sat on a bench under the apple tree clears her throat and begins to tell the legend of a peculiar creature and the mischief it creates in a far away kingdom.
The Story:
The Luskin is a mythical creature that is often described as a chicken. With a curse that was added to it by the Acuran of Food, Delia Tire. This curse would not affect the animal itself but anyone who ate it. Causing them to become uncontrollably obsessed with whatever their hearts desired. The story goes that Delia Tire grew upset by the sight of royalty eating in abundance while their people starved. So, the magic wielding Acuran cursed their favourite food, Luskin, to teach them a lesson. Later on the evening, the royal family ate as normal. Then ate some more. And more. To the point where they could do nothing but eat. Their obsession with food led to their demise and allowed a new family to takeover as royalty, one who was fair and took care of the people they watched over.Reality:
Did your parents hate you or something? Everyone's heard of a Luskin! They appear in all sorts of kid's stories. But just cause they appear in stories doesn't make them real. You fool, now are you going to buy something or not?It is unsure whether the Luskin was an animal that existed in days gone by. Many believe they are just a substitution for chicken to make old myths and fables sound more interesting. There are a few that do believe the creatures were real. The most convinced are members of the Fine Dining and Delicacy club. A group of individuals with an appetite for the weird and wonderful. Hosting one dinner every year to show off their most impressive and rare meals. Other rumours surround the Swiftan family. In modern times they are known to hold a preservation centre for White Writers, an endangered species. But some believe the family protect and preserve even more types of species to avoid them from total extinction.
