The War of the Southern Seas
Military action
The king of Lothen dispatched an armada after Mascardi, sparking the "The War of the Southern Seas." The royal army suffered a significant defeat, leading Mascardi to establish the autonomous kingdom of the Trident. Known as "Mascardi, the Slayer of Monsters" or "The Lord of the Sea," he became a living legend among sailors. With the mermaids' treasure, Mascardi fortified the new kingdom, constructing castles, ships, and armies. Upon Mascardi's death in 235 AC, his illegitimate son, Mario Berio, inherited the kingdom.
