Stein's College of Alchemy
The Stein's College of Alchemy is a college dedicated to teaching prospective students the intricate science of Alchemy, not to be confused with potioncraft. Founded by House Steins to train alchemists with the goal of forging a deeper understanding of the science of alchemy this college has produced the world's most powerful alchemists and allowed House Stein's to leverage these individuals scientific power to both advance their technology and bring ruin to battlefields. Students who attend are given the tools they need to thrive and expected to conduct their own research into an area of alchemy they wish to specialize in and depending on the student, may apply to take a final test and should they succeed will be appointed to the position of Truthseeker, a state agent given access to all the college's research materials, provided with funding and holding the authority of a knight in exchange for answering the call of war and handling local issues should the need arise. The college is located in the Gardlands and uses a castle known as River Hold as its campus.
Structure
The college was founded by House Steins, but is overseen by a headmaster chosen by the lord of the house and they are appointed for life. This headmaster manages the staff, who gets into the school and day to day operations. Underneath the headmaster are teachers for each class the college offers and a security detail for the campus. There are 5 types of classes offered each with their own professor, Basic Transmutation, Combat, Elemental, Bio-Elchemy and Chimera Studies. The teachers are free to teach their classes as they see fit.
History
The college was founded by the founder of House Steins, Levi Steins in order to preserve the knowledge of alchemy and further its studies. It was never formed with the intention of making soldiers, but during The Scourge Alchemists were invaluable in fighting fiends and as time went on and alchemists gained more influence the school became more militaristic and less about studies. The school has always been protective of its secrets and never lets in outsiders as to protect the dangerous power alchemy is capable of.
