Grand Chief

Requirements

To qualify to hold the title one must meet the following criteria:

1. You must be the Chief of your clan.
2. Your clan must be on The Tribal Council
3. You must be a native of Darval

Appointment

The position of Grand Chief is passed down from the previous holder of the position. The Grand Chief may pass the title to another Chief on The Tribal Council at any time they wish. In the event that the Grand Chief dies and has not passed down the title, a vote will be held by the member of the Tribal Council to determine the next Grand Chief. These rules are also used in the occurance that a Grand Chief is removed from his post. The rules of said vote are as follows:

1. The previous Grand Chief's clan successor can not become Grand Chief nor do they vote, with the exception of clause 5
2. A member may not vote for themselves
3. A member may not abstain from voting
4. In the occurance of a tie between members a re-vote occurs with only those members being eligible
5. If there is still a tie then the successor of the previous Grand Chief's clan will break the tie

Duties

The Grand Chief, like all of those that sit on the The Tribal Council, is expected to make decisions for the good of the people of the Darval Nation. They also act as the representative of the nation when foreign dignitaries come to Darval. He also acts as the moderator during the Tribal Council meetings.

Benefits

The Grand Chief vote acts as the tie breaker in the event that there is a tie when voting.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The only thing that allows for the Grand Chief to be removed from his position is if he is found to be working for another country, for the Council was established to prevent foreign powers from overtaking the country of Darval. If it is believed that The Grand Chief is working at the behest of another nation, evidence is presented and a vote is held. If it succeeds he is immediately removed as Grand Chief and as the Chief of his clan. Another vote is held to select the next Grand Chief.
