In the early days of the world, there was a great war among the Elder Gods called the War in Heaven. The Tetrad was forced to defend Meliheal from countless other pantheons, jealous that Meliheal was one of the only World Trees left in existence. By the time the war was over, many gods were captured and imprisoned within The Moon Izi and deep inside the planet Tarsuros, as well as other locations. But..an Elder God has the power to unmake stars and break worlds apart. Some Elder Gods have power over entropy itself and can cause any prison they are in to decay to dust within seconds. how did the Tetrad deal with the power of these other Elder Gods?

Eons before this, one of the Tetrad, Tazil, had pondered this very thing and prepared for it. He experimented with every material known, every form of magic and divine power imaginable. He went to the darkest parts of the cosmos and learned secrets from outside gods and combined his knowledge to create an item known as Deity Binding Chains.

In current times, these chains are thought to be made from a variety of Gemsteel known as Binding Steel. Chains made from the material exist from previous ages and they can be found everywhere, though the methods for making it are not known. Once it comes into contact with any being, it drains their energy until the being comes to a stop. They will stay in place until the magic in the chains is broken, no matter how long that takes. Even Elder Gods with power over time and space can become slaves with this metal.

The Tetrad, along with their children the Dragon Lords and Lesser Gods, attacked each of the panethons one by one, until there were none left, or they fled to the deepest corners of reality. Many thousands of gods were wrapped in these chains, then they were cast into the darkest pits the Tetrad could find, so that no one would remove their bindings and cause them to rise again. Most were thrown into the Eye of Tarcur, a great storm on the planet Tarsuros. But as the eye filled up with ever more prisoners, the Tetrad looked for other places.

Gods were buried underneath all of the moons of Tarsuros, including Izi, Lazulia, and Aros. There are gods imprisoned under the worlds of Yikonis and Rosia. There are gods imprisoned on Vreathe, such as the Diamond god underneath the Shining City of Tesiadem in the Barony of Mataro. Some gods were cast into the Sun, while others were hidden in darker places.

Tazil himself ended up bound by his own invention for several tens of thousands of years, or at least a lesser version of it. His power was only mostly locked, and he was able to send whispers through the roots of the World Tree and corrupt the Olimians across hundreds of millennia.
The only reason why these gods were successfully imprisoned and no longer move is because of these chains, and the metal that Tazil himself created. He never revealed the secrets of the metal to anyone, though the Olimians managed to make their own version, which was later used to imprison many Lesser Gods. It was also used to bind Tazil himself, as well as two other Elder gods from the Tetrad: Alom and Yanneth. After the Silver Race fell, there was no one left to make these chains anymore.
