General Summary
A Fight
- As they promised, the party descended back into the secret room to assist Sen in clearing out the horrors that had invaded the First Temple beyond the mirror.
- Sen remained behind, to ensure that they would not be trapped. He was not particularly happy about this.
- Alton quickly dispatched one of the creatures, getting the drop on it from the shadows.
- The other creature was angered and the party rushed inside to take it down.
- Alton's holy water bolts dealt significant radiant damage.
- The insect like creature shouted, calling two more shadowy horrors from the shadowy boarder around the room.
- The party successfully bested the shadow things and the large insectoid thing with weird tentacles about it's mouth and a single eye.
Investigation
- The room seemed to be a temple of Luin, resembling the temple in the Maze of Bones where Farren had lit a candle on Luin's Day.
- After finding wax on the pedestal, Alton lit a lantern in the center of the room, causing three symbols to flash on the pedestal and the the shadows to recede to the very edges of the room.
- Rust was advised by the voice in his head that "aunty Luin" said not to go through the shadows.
- Rust found a book on enchanting left in the mostly barren shelves.
- Farren found the Tome of Legendary Lore.
- The bookcases in the mirror were in better condition that those in the tower. There was no decay, mould, mushrooms etc. However, there were very few books left. A blood trail and some other clues indicated that someone had come in, possibly fought with the horrors, taken a number of books, and left. The Tome of Legendary Lore seemed somewhat hidden in the bookcase.
- There were two strange red trees (similar to the mostly blue trees Alton and Harold had spotted in the Amberlight sewers) growing near the bookcases, near some colourful dust. The trees had bulbs on them and were identified as crystal lizard eggs.
- There were some vines on the other side of the room, but when the creatures were defeated/driven off, they seemed to die.
- The pedestal in the middle of the room was identified as an altar to Luin and Gyrdyr, capable of repelling fiends, undead, and horrors. When it was re-activated by Alton and Matee, it briefly flashed with symbols of Aurolyr and Thor before returning to Luin's symbol.
Wait... Weren't You Waiting Outside?
- Sen came into the mirror to thank the party.
- He was relieved and concerned to find that the Tome of Legendary Lore had been left behind, theorizing that perhaps Luin had not wanted Lys to take it.
- Pup and Panda arrived after him. Pup claimed that he and Panda had been training.
- Sen offered to let the party use the Tome of Legendary Lore.
