Landing Below
General Summary
"But if that is where we are, then where are the stars?
...
Teeny, tiny, tiny, brother" - Brevir's skull to Krumbleton
Land Ho!
- Alton spotted a small island below. The scattered sunlight from beyond the waterfall bouncing off and through various floating crystal rocks cast a pinkish spotlight on it. There were a number of leafless, dead trees scattered over the island as well as a number of manmade structures that came into view as the ship approached.
- Based on the time and direction the party had travelled, it seemed that the waterfall in the distance to the south, far away, was still too close to correspond to the edge of the world.
- Alton tried to look for stars or something to navigate by. Some of the colours of the rainbow looked promising but he had no experience navigating this way.
Harold's Landing
- Upon finally spotting land, Harold leapt off the ship and fell/flew to one of the largest structures in view. He landed atop a battered windmill. Nearby, he found a cold forge. To the south, he found a massive crystal, reminiscent of lianyte but not as magical.
- Harold found the inside of the windmill was a normal windmill but filled with dust and mould. He cleaned it out with warding wind and claimed it as his own.
- Rust identified the crystal as non magical but was able to deduce that it was similar in composition to lianyte, only much weaker.
- Harold broke a piece of the crystal off. It was pinkish in colour but lost it's very faint glow when separated.
Rust Finds some Loot
- Rust explored around the windmill, finding three anvils and a large amount of discarded ore.
- He also found some translucent white scaly material caught amidst the rocks.
- Touching one of the trees, Rust found that his had caused a poof of glowing spores to be released. The trees were dead, and decaying upright somehow.
Alton Goes Exploring
- Alton stealthily went out to scout the island. He found a Glass Memory sheltered under a bridge. It revealed a glowing elf (NO WINGS) running from a gigantic reptilian foot that transformed into a gigantic humanoid foot. There was more foliage and brush at the time of the memory. There was also more water under the bridge, which was dry in this area at the time Alton found it.
- There were plenty of budding Glass Memory plants, as well as several other bushes.
- Alton found a tower, a fort of some sort. The bridge led straight into a wall. On the other side, there was a sealed door that appeared to open upwards, like a portcullis.
- Alton noticed a monument to the east, but first explored west, where there were three rusty cages sitting on the far west side of the island. There was also a platform overlooking them, with a lever. Alton pulled the lever, and a bell sounded, despite there not being an obvious bell atop the tower.
- Alton used his sending stone to contact the captain and inform him.
Krumbleton Speaks With Brevir
- At the captain's request, Krumbleton reluctantly called on Thor's aid to interrogate the skull of Brevir.
- The party asked Brevir where they were on the map. Brevir thought, based on the colours, that they were to the west of his homeland. He however said that they could not be there, as there were no stars.
- Brevir identified the crystal as the place where the stars touched down.
- Brevir claimed that he knew nothing of this worldhopper, but the fiend had settled with the tiny king in Myth Elin.
- Brevir identified his treasure, his capitol, as being in the area on the map where the large hammer symbol was.
- Brevir did not make the stars, they were there before his time, forged of the first dead of Myth Elin.
- Brevir called Krumbleton short three times, but also called him brother.
Rust Runs From Snake
- The party went to investigate the tower where the bell had rung.
- Rust accidentally caused a Glass Memory to bloom and shatter. He then was careful not to walk over the blue plants.
- Rust followed the bridge to see where it led. It led to a pile of rubble, a large stone, capped by a dying tree.
- Rust heard a sound and tried to say hello, but felt that the origin of the sound was not friendly. He backpedaled immediately.
Farren Knocks on the Door
- Skeptical that anyone would build a bridge into a wall, Farren climbed up and knocked. At first nothing, happened, though it did remind him of the wall in Celeb with no gate that opens when touched. Then Luin's Sword of Sunlight glowed and a finger over closed lips atop a moon, beneath a sword appeared and the way opened.
- Inside there were stairs going up and down, as well as a hallway to one side.
Sen's Dining Room
- Down the hallway, the party found an empty dining room, filled with tables and benches and a hunched humanoid figure at the far end.
- Inspecting it more closely, the party found a warforged, hunched over illegible decaying notes. The warforged did not move at all.
- There were a number of abjuration spells cast on the walls of the tower.
- The warforged had a leather envelope shaped bag slid under his hand. It contained a message from Lys to 'Sen'.
- Rust identified the warforged as Sentinel and a traitor, but did not know how he knew this information.
- Rust identified Sen as 'sleeping'.
- Sen was wearing +2 armour, a magical broach (both integrated), a satchel with expensive inks that seemed in fine condition (likely magical), and had an enchanted silvered greatsword (with several lianyte gems inlaid in the hilt) on his back. The party took the sword.
- The party attempted to wake Sen, using 5 healing hands points, remove curse, lightning lure, a good old fashioned slap, and a rat in it's mouth that ran downstairs. Sen did not wake.
The Bedroom
- Alton snuck upstairs and found a room filled with many empty beds. It seemed that they had not been used in years if not centuries.
- He found a todo list nailed to the wall.
- There was some gold discarded by he ignored it.
- He found a painting that had been taken off the wall and shoved under a bed. It was dusty but undamaged. It depicted the glowing elf and was signed 'Sen'. On the back was written Luthais, the last star. There was an empty book with a pressed rose sealed behind it.
- There was also a locked door at the end of the room.
