Snake
General Summary
Poison the Snake
- The party and Sen decided that the giant snake had to be dealt with.
- Alton proposed attempting to poison the snake using the girden root poison he had found upstairs to kill the snake, but was not sure if it would be strong enough.
- The party decided to try regardless.
- Krumbleton very reluctantly cooked up a stew using the spices he had on hand as well as some ingredients supplied by the rest of the party (including a decaying demon head from Harold and some hallucinogenic mushrooms from Reveer that Alton had found on the ship). He then instructed Alton on how to mix in the poison to mask it's taste/scent.
- Harold delivered the stew outside with mage hand and the snake swallowed it pot an all.
Fight the Snake
- The snake was in terrible pain after swallowing the poison.
- Harold struck it with lightning, causing it to burst into flames.
- The smoke from the snake took the form of swarms of creatures, snakes, squirrels, people, spiders, frogs, mice and attacked the party.
- With Sen, the party defeated the shrieking apparitions and felled the snake.
- Farren helped put out the fire.
Looting the Snake
- Rust salvaged what he could from the snake skin.
- Alton sought the snake's lair but found mostly only bones within it, and an amulet with the holy symbol of Luin on it.
- Alton also noticed one tree that was almost still alive that seemed to have fallen onto the bridge. It's pink leave glowed slightly when it was watered.
- Rust spotted a familiar name, "Rune", on the monument of fallen company members. He remembered a warforged enchanting a weapon. He remembered a voice speaking to him "perhaps he was right". He remembered a feeling of anger, sadness, and betrayal.
Glass Memory
- Alton activated a glass memory sheltered in a cave
- It depicted the island as it was long ago, infinitely more alive. There was a gentle glow coming from the north east. The tower and bridge were nowhere to be seen. There were people though, discussing something over a map of the Land Below. Two were warforged.
- Alton watched as in the memory two humans, armed and armoured, watched the glow in the distance, smiled at each other and then rush to shelter the glass memory in the cave.
- In the memory, a wingless elf descended riding a pegasus to speak with the people who were there. Everyone seemed concerned.
The Secret Room
- The Secret room was opened by Sen who placed his brooch atop a pedestal behind a monument adorned with the names of fallen company members.
- The doorway opened revealing a staircase downwards.
- In the room was a mirror on one side and a painting on the opposite wall.
- The painting seemed to depict an archway, some bookshelves, and a pedestal.
- The mirror depicted the same scene but with damage to the furniture and shadows seeping through it.
- Pup admitted to letting someone down here but claimed that the mirror was like that before.
Regarding the Wingless Elf and Other Things
- Sen identified the amulet Alton had found as a holy symbol of Luin, possibly more useful to a cleric but capable of making one less appetizing to certain creatures of the night. It had belonged to someone named Zelphar.
- Sen explained that the elf in the memory did not have wings because it was "before the wanderer came to take them away. Before the tragedies."
- Sen also claimed to have met Zil'zod (Vek'vaaqal) when he first moved to Alin. Apparently Zil'zod had been a mad mage in a tower there almost 2000 years ago.
- Sen claimed that everything died due to lack of light, following the fall of Myth Elin and Luthais's later disappearance.
