The Ashes Beyond

The Ashes Beyond is the domain of the goddess Ashephine - Mother of All Endings / Ashen Mother . It is a desert made entirely of ashes of the deceased that lies deep within The Void . Whenever anyone dies on the material planes, they gather in the Ashes Beyond, reforming their body in the age they were at their death, from the ashes of the desert. There they wander until hopefully, a benevolent deity chooses to accept them into their domain to spend their afterlife. Ashepine tries her best to protect all the wayward souls in the Ashes Beyond until they can be chosen by a deity, or in case they are never chosen. Some unfortunate souls however are instead snatched up by more nefarious deities for their evil purposes, or even devoured by Murskuug - Avatar of the Void and simply gone forever.

The Ashes Beyond is often not the first place necromancers look in the Void to try and reanimate the dead unless they are specifically trying to bring someone back to life. Ashepine does not abide by necromancy beyond restoring life to those she considers gone too soon, and will issue harsh punishment to those found using necromancy for nefarious purposes in the Ashes Beyond.
