The History of Arcane Magic

Arcane magic was first discovered on the Material Plane by the desert elves of Ramilsahar. Extraordinary spellcasters, the elves of Ramilsahar first discovered the imperceptible ley lines crisscrossing Vylderaine after The Schism. The deduced that these ley lines were magical scars left in the plane after the gods descended upon it during the events of the Schism and tore the continent of Vylderaine apart. They eventually figured out how to tap into the power of these ley lines and use them to power incredible magical abilities. For a time this skill put the elves of Ramilsahar far ahead of the rest of the world of Vylderaine, however due to The Fall of Ramilsahar the rest of the world had a chance to catch up and now the practice of arcane magic has become rather common.
