The War of Provenance

The War of Provenance is the war that began at the end of The Age of Enlightenment that gave The Age of War its name. No one knows who started the war or why. It is presumed that after the excitement of the Age of Enlightenment died down and the nations of Vylderaine knew what everyone else had, they got greedy and decided to try and take more than what the others were willing to share. The war encompassed almost all of the nations that surround the Provenance Ocean but the most evidence of fighting from this time period has been found on The Sundered Isles and in the Vairedanian Empire. It is also unknown how exactly the world came to an end as The Forgotten Age came immediately after and as soon as that age was over the war was already finished. Most in Vylderaine assume they don't want to know exactly what could have stopped a war like that, but whatever it was likely sundered the continent of Igíos into the Sundered Isles and caused the Five Kingdoms of Cúigear to unite as the Vairedanian Empire.
