Notta Bitmore

Notta Bitmore is a traveling performer, orator and fashionista, hailing from the generally halfling-populated island of Rhosgobel, Voidward of the Broken Empire. She is one of the dual continent's most prized bards and fashion icons, often dominating musical competitions across both Gondara and the Lorent.

In addition to her famed solo acts, Bitmore has lent her vocal talents to a wide variety of bands spanning many genres. Groups she's partnered with include Midnight Mushrumps, Jardins Migrato, We Can't Believe We Ate the Whole Thing, The Circle of Fifths and Spiderbait.

Description

Notta Bitmore is often seen in garish, colourful clothes in inventive styles that blend theatrical traditions from all over the archipelago. She's particularly fond of geometric, overfitting outfits, object-themed hats and chintz patterning, often at the same time.

Bitmore's usually accompanied by a sizeable caravan of Rhosgobelish clothiers, aestheticians and accompanying instrumentalists, as well as a hulking Arakh valet named Zurgo.

Musical Style

Notta Bitmore has written the book on one-person theatre, combining her colourful, operatic trill with hilarious comedic interludes and gripping storytelling. At times she performs conversations between upwards of six characters, rapidly and flawlessly switching between different positions, statures, voices and accents. This is made all the more impressive by being completely mundane: magic is banned at many bardic competitions. To challenge herself, she will bring these mundane performances even to venues where illusionism is allowed and simply take the handicap: in her words, she "never had the personality for wizarding."

Outside musical theatre, Notta Bitmore has performed many genres of music, from Ilautian opera to Kintyrian skirt music to Allesander "brigand music". She has allegedly studied Agåntyran chest singing, but refuses to perform it, claiming "Midlanders wouldn't receive it with due respect."

Bitmore's current project explores her love-hate relationship with the folk music of her native Rhosgobel.

She seems to be an amusing person and it would definitely be fun to see her on stage. I always find it nice that you hide little references to living people or (fictional) places (here Rhosgobel) or earthly motifs in your articles, but make it into something new.

Stay imaginative and discover Blue´s Worlds, Elaqitan and Naharin.

You're so kind, Blue Fairy! It can be hard to find the right level of subtlety for homages, but I enjoy them.
