Jarlaxle Baenre
A mysterious drow rogue that went head to head with the party to steal the one of the eyes belonging to the Stone of Golorr. He and his men narrowly escaped with the Xanathar's pet fish that had swallowed the eye.
Jarlaxle ended up aiding the party in their investigation and subsequent fight to find the missing 500,000 gold pieces. He told the party his motivations were purely for that of his city as he wanted Luskan, a city full of pirates and swindlers, to join the Lords' Alliance. He saw this as a way to gain favor with the Alliance.
He stole the Dragonstaff of Ahghairon from the Vault of Dragons (where the party had their showdown with Manshoon and found a sapphire dragon). He returned it (with flourish) to the Open Lord of Waterdeep. His spectacle was successful and Luskan is in the process of joining the Lord's Alliance.
He sent the party a portable hole and the dead goldfish he and his group stole from the Xanathar, which he had bronzed and put on a plaque.
