Dead Squad
Once in a while, the scouts of The Refuge and other people living farther to the south report about sightings of a peculiar group moving in the lands outside the city. Those lands are often way more affected by the merging of the spiritual and material world and because almost no one has memories related to them, they are way less stable and way more dangerous to stay in them for prolonged periods of time. And yet, 5-6 silhouettes are frequently seen traversing them, but still keeping close to the edge of the city.
Because of their dumb luck (and certainty that it will run out at some point), the group has been nicknamed a Dead Squad.
As former soldiers of the Lord of Puppets, each one of them is equipped and trained to fight both with humans and Spirits.
Oriana, knowing full well what happens to those who don't listen to the Lord, she pretended to be like the others of her kind and not stand out. For over a year, she did so while looking for other Dolls that were like her. Or those she could "wake up" from Lord's control. Once in a while, their Lord would gather some of his Dolls in his theater and watch the plays he has written performed by them. Oriana knew that this was the best time to run away with as many Dolls that could be awakened as possible. She managed to save five of them.

Six broken girls
Not many know about this, but the Dead Squad consists of six Dolls, undead creations of the Lord of the Puppets. Because of their appearances that wouldn't fool anyone that they are human and because they don't want to bring any danger to innocent people, they tend to stay away from them, living in the dangerous outskirts of the city.As former soldiers of the Lord of Puppets, each one of them is equipped and trained to fight both with humans and Spirits.
Attached to the Lord
Even after they managed to set themselves free from the control of their Lord, they are still connected to him. It is that connection that still keeps them alive, providing them with the constant flow of spiritual energy that supports their body functions. But because they aren't maintaining contact with their Lord, this connection is slowly corroding. The six of them tries to find any other way to sustain their bodies, but partially, all of them accepted that they will die at some point. But at least they can die while being free from any control.Squad's history
The creation
After the Extinction ended, the Lord of the Puppets settled down, proclaiming the southern part of the city as his Dominium. Being already in possession of an army of Dolls and countless bodies resulting from the Extinction, he could continue the production of his "children" in peace. Experimenting with using different parts and techniques, he managed to create various types of Dolls, some serving a specific purpose while others being a result of a chance. Some of those experiments were how the six members of the Dead Squad were created.Freedom
As their Lord doesn't exactly understand the processes that take place when he creates his Dolls, they often come out with various flaws. In most cases, those flaws are either physical or mental, but sometimes, it is the bond between him and them, which usually grants their undying loyalty and love, that gets broken. One of such Dolls was Oriana.Oriana, knowing full well what happens to those who don't listen to the Lord, she pretended to be like the others of her kind and not stand out. Surviving outside
Since then, the six of them had to learn to survive in the world warped by Extinction by themselves. Oriana, being more of a supporting person and not a leader, stepped down, and due to the vote, the most charismatic one, Jackie, took on the role of the leader of the group. As the six of them still have human emotions and are able to consciously think, the world around them is affected by their overall and current state of mind. This has led to some confusion in the past, but they quickly learn to adapt to the everchanging world around them.

Transmissions
Once in a while, those who listen in on the radio waves and send their own transmissions, are contacted by someone on normally unused frequency. The speaker introduces herself as Jackie. She tries to speak with anyone who listens and is capable to respond. When asked anything about the place she is staying in, she only responds that she and her friends can manage.More often, she is the one who asks if others need any help. If they have problems with Spirits or bandits or any resources missing. Those who answer her will usually find the stuff they need at their gates or scouts and scavengers from their settlements will celebrate that lately their work was a little bit easier.
