Rysel Industries
Rysel Industries is a very old company originating on Terra, having expanded into numerous fields during the era of the Star League. When the Star League fell, the company quickly relocated its corporate offices and the Rysel family followed as soon as it was safe to travel. Over the following years, the family remained in control of it even as it developed into numerous branches, and began divesting themselves of companies in fields which would make them targets. Currently, they hold two companies: Rysel Pharmaceuticals and Rysel Medical Laboratories. Both of these companies are widespread, with assets spread over almost two dozen planets and numerous ships devoted to moving their goods.
For now, Rysel Industries is mostly interested in retaining some semblance of autonomy and relevance in the galactic community. The two companies in particular are more than enough to continue operations during this time, and Rysel has negotiated numerous contracts to provide medical aid only to the Successor States. Of course, some of those are more open to accepting it than others, and they have prospered largely inside the Federation of Skye (in the Lyran Commonwealth) and the edges of the Dieron Military District (in the Draconis Combine). Their insistence on a stance of neutrality has allowed them to continue operations under strict supervision on the Draconis Combine worlds, while the recent alliance forming the Federated Commonwealth has given them a large opportunity.
The current leader of the company is Sorvetz Reisel, and the board of directors has been relieved of a great amount of power which they would normally have in order to prevent issues with the succession of ownership. The heir presumptive to the family is Hechek Reisel, who has been doing most of the general management tasks required.
