Necromancy in Material Form

This staff represents the power of necromancy, a fragment of Mystra's spirit coalesced into material form. The city of Morten was founded on the spot this staff appeared to spring forth from the ground of Winderia. The staff appears as a smooth oaken staff dripping with blood, though it leaves no trace on the ground.
Only a 20th-level wizard devoted to the arcane tradition of necromancy may attempt to attune with this staff. This can only occur after they have gained the approval of Mystra as the next Necromancer of the Eight and wielder of Blood, often by completing a grand quest on her behalf. The staff dramatically increases the wielder's magical capabilities, particularly in the use of necromancy magic. However, the wielder cannot stray too far from the staff or suffer severe consequences.
Once a creature attunes to Blood, the attunement cannot be broken unless the wielder dies or the staff is destroyed.
