Wild and unpredictable, Lureene Greycastle is a female human transmuter in her early 70s. She has ruled Talla for 32 years, and her spirit has not subsided since she was a young wizard. She randomly appears throughout the city, making changes and declarations as she sees fit in the moment. Citizens who honor the city may randomly find an extra story added to their homes; those who bother her may find their houses suddenly outside the city walls. The only constant about Lureene’s life that outsiders see is her service to Talla. Lureene has established a clear if tenuous working relationship with Darian Orlus because of the Zorethian threat. She reluctantly shares what she can spare from Talla in exchange for the additional security her people desire. She has assembled a remarkable corps of engineers and planners that maximize the city’s ability to harvest resources and convert them to usable products for the eastern region. Lureene wields Transience and rules Talla from atop the Amethyst Spire.
