Tiilos

Tiilos is the city-state that grew around the wellspring of illusion. Those making their first visits to Tiilos find the city hard to grasp, as if their perception is slightly off. Structures, animals, and even citizens seem to fade in and out of existence. The initial experience often leads to nausea and lightheadedness, but over time, everyone but those with the weakest constitutions becomes accustomed.
Tiilos sports the largest populations of dwarves and gnomes in Winderia. Longstanding clan and family lines have moved down from the mountains into Tiilos. The ingenuity of the gnomes and dwarves has created an interesting environment: gadgets, trinkets, and technological advancements are integrated into many aspects of everyday life in a city that appears ever shifting and ethereal underneath it all.
Tiilos has a strong economy, due both to the ideal growing conditions in the Tiil River Valley and the ready supply of ores and minerals from the mountains. The city councilors have been able to leverage this into favorable trade agreements for rarer goods and materials, and the mountain races convert these into advanced technology further traded to interested buyers. The natural illusion capabilities of the citizens often “enhance” the allure of their wares.
