Race

Any race listed in the approved sourcebooks can be used in D&D, no questions asked. While we generally leave racial lore open-ended for you to come up with your own stories, some races have unique backstory factors you can reference in your character’s history if you wish, which will be listed here as they come up. 
If the race you want to play isn’t on this list, it doesn’t mean that race doesn’t exist in the world – it just means the race’s established lore isn’t particularly different than its Chromatian counterpart.
As we also support custom races based on the outlines provided in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything (TCoE), we like to list them here in case other folks would like to play them too.
