Marie-Elise Delancey is an enigma of a sidhe, firmly rooted to New Orleans and its culture. Some say she was once an oba, one of the ruling eshu who somehow found a way to bond with New Orleans. Others say she is a deep autumn sidhe who never returned to Arcadia, and who bonded with New Orleans to the point where it shaped her dream as she shaped it.
Either way, Marie-Elise's presence in New Orleans can be traced back to at least the mid 1850's, where she joined with the Court of the Ghede run by the former life of Papa Bernard, becoming a Mambo and bringing the lwa to the Port of Miracles.
She was once the ruling Countess of Forbidden Secrets, under the name of Marie Laveau, and was attacked and deposed by Lisette Levay on her rise to power. Marie-Elise disappeared for a time, retuning under her current name Marie-Elise; which honors her first fae name Elyse and her connection to Marie Laveau.
