Among the safest waterways associated with the Veng River, the Crystal is navigable only as far as Brancast. The river's source is a small lake called Erstin, streams from which fill the famous canals of Chendl. Trade along the Crystal river's eastern length dwindled to nearly nothing during the Greyhawk Wars, but has slowly been rising again as Furyondy strengthened and secured its eastern border along the Veng. Rumors of strange black shapes moving through the eastern reaches of the river have caused some concern but so far no reliable reports have been confirmed.
