Christopher Smithson, King of the Moors
Herald of Ivory Eyes Christopher Smithson
The first words about the Herald were spoken in the early 1620's. Who he or she is, is unknown. The Herald seems to be crippled, as his left arm is always held cradled and close to the body. Although he is crippled, he seems to be a well trained swordsman. Even besting the Grand Marshal Leon in single combat with no effort. Rumor has it that he makes his lair in the ancient ruins of Carnwrath, whose fires have been dark for thousands of years, until recently.
He has appeared as a conflicted soul, torn between love of country and possible power to gain. He has frequently appeared to the better side of his humanity, showing that he is nothing more than a man that was placed in a distressful situation. Going so far as to bargain with heroes from Foridia to stop his reign of terror if they promise to aid him when the Dread King rises again.
In Winter 1632 he appeared to his former foes. Bloodied and barely breathing, he begged for their safeguard, and to warn them of the true evil that had appeared due to his naivety. The Faceless One managed to gain control of the Tree of Yog, and with that attempted to kill him. After the Battle of Carnwrath in summer of 1633, Christopher was granted very limited clemency due to his aid to The Duchy of Foridia in destroying The Faceless and the Tree of Yog. From 1633 to 1657 he was imprisoned in the Foridian State Prison, and since release has remained under guarded house arrest to live out the rest of his days. Duchess Clairicia Val'ianie maintains a secret friendship with him.
