Greenfog
Greenfog was the first of cities in the Rendlean Empire, and at one point was a grand sight to behold. From its vibrant multicolored high rise buildings, gilded churches and polished roadways. However, since the defeat of the empire at the hands of the Dwarves, the city has fell on hard days. Its once high walls and bastions were mostly all reduced to rubble from the siege of the city, now the walls are covered in thick grey moss. The city is mostly abandoned, and most buildings are condemned. The population that was once over 50,000 is now no more than 15,000. Although the city has been called a ghost town, it still maintains a very prosperous fishing and lumber industry, with most of the populace working in either one of the professions. The rest of the peasantry is employed at the many different mines and farms of the Merchant Princes of Westermarrow. Greenfog makes very little money off of travelers that come into Mistfen Mire, because most of the locals tell them to steer clear of the filthy city and its vile brothels. The port side of the city is always bustling with the coming and going of cargo and fishing ships, always working tirelessly to fulfill the quota of the Merchant Princes.
The city used to be known as Endlemarch in the days of the Rendlean Empire, but shortly after the fall of the empire its name was changed to a more suitable name. Off the coast of the city in the bay lives a strange aquatic fungus that emits a stinking airborne cloud into the air, the color of a sickly green. The excreted clouds mix with the fog that rolls in from the sea, creating a green fog, hence the name. Recently, the fungus has been subject to harvesting for unknown reasons, all that people know is that the Wolfholme Institution for the Study of Practical Medicine pays well for samples.
