Rarerook Crossing
Rarerook Crossing is named for the Rendlean Rook, a cat sized black rook and a one of a kind species. Its feathers are a highly desirable commodity all throughout the world, especially among nobles. The price for one pound of Rendlean Rook feathers go for roughly 1,500 gold a bag, and it can take up to three pounds to make one cloak. The crossing consists of four bridges: from north to south, Blackwash Bridge, Rookwar Bridge, Ricket Bridge and Rural Crossing. The four bridges are spaced apart roughly by five hundred feet give or take, and two bridges are visible at a time while traveling the roadway. Bandits used to prey on merchant folk until 1588, when The Kingdom of Freebridge petitioned the Merchant Princes of Westermarrow to allow them to build a permanent garrison by Rookwar Bridge, called Keep Rook. It is manned by a platoon of Marines from the Tel Morathian Marine Corps.
