Lieutenant Johnathan Gossan
Lt. Gossan is a well-respected CO within Ironwood's Chain of Command and is the CO charged with managing the coms and logistics of any forces near Atlas. He takes his job very seriously and rarely expresses himself when on a mission. He's famous for his strict professionalism and open-mindedness towards Faunus. He was actually the s one to sponsor Flynt Coal and neon Kat into Atlas Academy and defends their presence against other COs.
Gossan isn't ecstatic over the way the military is going and believes that General Ironwood is losing sight of what makes a military good. it isn't obedience, it's skill and dedication and he believes the Atlas military is losing its value over skill and caring too much if a soldier will follow an order. He believes that sometimes you have to violate orders to get the mission done. He still respects Ironwood and understands he's a highly stressed man.
Rather than openly violating Ironwood's orders, he uses his creativity to follow them but not compromise Atlas if he feels an Order is inadequate or going to mess something up. He believes completely in his nation and wishes that Whitecliffe would just get along with them.
After the Fall of Beacon he becomes a Liason for General Gold as Gold takes over the majority of Operations outside of Atlas, Gossan tries to soften Gold's critiques for Ironwood and tries to generate a constructive dialogue between the two. He also speaks to Whitecliffe's Gerald Whitaker often and tries to find ways to angle for peace and avoid internal conflict between the two Sister Cities.
