Humans

Written by ReaverArklight

Humanity is an Ancient species, thought to have existed on Remnant for 700,000 years at the least. Experiencing multiple near extinction events through out it's history where countless nations and Empires have risen and crumbled. We Find Humanity in the modern world existing in a Post Colour era. Meaning that Humans don't so universally divide each other by skin colours anymore.   Humans have the ability to harness Dust and use special Abilities known as Semblances which unknown to many is the fragments of magical might from past bygone Eras. These Eras have been varied, some Eras have been of near unbelievable fantastic nature, others have been Steam and coal covered eras of Industrial Machines and bolt action guns. Some have been eras of total and complete ruin and horrific Wastelands.   The last two was the Eras of Industrial might and today's Era of Information and Technology. Humanity at this current moment is the highest peak it has ever Reached, creating magnificent scientific marvels and understanding Dust and Semblance more then they ever have in any other era. Even going so far as to create Androids and Robots, One of which, Penny Polendina can manipulate her aura.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humans are pretty indistinguishable from our World's version when it comes to Anatomy, They're bi-pedal and haveĀ  similar vestigial traits inherited from their evolution from Apes.

Genetics and Reproduction

Humans act the same way as they do in our world, with the same cycles and health processes. The exact timing andĀ  fine details like that are different thanks to the very different evolutionary development process.

Growth Rate & Stages

Humans grow in similar ways, Puberty starts sooner on average at 9-10 rather then later at 10-12. Puberty also appears to end sooner, such as the majority of bodily changes Ruby goes through seems mostly concluded by the time she's 16. Humans in our world typically stop around 20-25, with many leaning towards 25. Humans in Remnant however seem to fully mature and end puberty around 17-18.   This is undeniably thanks to the many, many near extinction events, necessitating faster development.

Ecology and Habitats

Humans seem more adaptable, able to live in much harsher climates, while Humans in our world can live in harsh environments how many times does that develop into a thriving Economic and Military super power? Not too often. Humans and Faunus appear to be much more temperature tolerant then Humans in our world.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Humans of Remnant appear to have far more efficient dietary systems, able to utilize stored energy better, meaning that outside of intense Aura usage, they're on average less hungry but when they need to eat a lot, they gain less weight then we would and are capable of digesting things easier. Milk toast intolerance seems to be near non existent, and dietary requirements seem less severe to maintain a combat ready body.

Biological Cycle

Humans appear to age slower after the ages of 20-30, typically living longer but also having their life spans doubled by more frequent gene treatments in gene clinics. Jacque and Willow Schnee are both quite old yet only seem to be in their 40's-50's rather then the age what they actually are.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Humans are spread across the world, even once living in Astora, back in a age when it was green and have slightly started the process of aggressive recolonization of that Hell hole. Humans exists on every corner in Remnant, including in military sights in Menagerie bases.

Average Intelligence

Humans possess the same levels of Intelligence as we do, they're just as dependent on Education, without it seemingly obovious realities can be obscured just like it can be for us.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Thanks to Aura, humans appear to have higher sensory capabilities, better hearing, sight and senses that let them know something is watching them before they see anyone. While we have these things, they have much better versions of it.
