Ravenhiem

Ravenhiem is a country with a difficult and varried history. It was infested early on by Abderron in disguise. After Abderron, until the events of the campaign Abderron's Conquest, Phentoghast ruled. Phentoghast was Abderron's son and every time a century passed and he should have died of old age, he "retreated from public eye" to pass away peacefully and then his "son" would take over. Before he was defeated Phentoghast XI was the emperor.
The country has gone through a social revoltion and the Warforged who were created to conquer the planet by Phentoghast have become natural citizens and a warforged is the current Emperor. His name is L30-D3@rZ3n, or as he goes by now Leo Dearzen.

Government in Ravenhiem

The transition from Phentoghast to a War Forged being in power has been a significant shift in politics and culture. Much of the nobility and noble houses remain as they were when Phentoghast was in power and while it is at times inspiring to see mortality embracing a new race into the fold, it is at the same time not without its own significant challenges.
Not the least of which is the challenge of learning each other's needs and how to rule and govern in a way that meets them for everyone. L30 has been working hard to meet with each noble house on a regular basis to ensure that the peace is not tenuous but is lasting for their country.

Economics in Ravenhiem

War, famine, and facism wrecked the Ravenhiemian economy. Surzell ran out of Gold. Times became tough and the country finds itself on an upswing as of late from a deep economic depression. The citizens have come together and in some ways that has made them more united than any time in the war torn country's history.

Life for the Nobility

L30 insists that royalty doesn't live above anyone else. He has built programs to help the poor and to transition the country out of depression. This includes working with the nobles to use thier fortunes to fund the help to the poor and others. What this means is the nobles of Ravenhiem do not live in the lap of luxury they once did. It reflects the new slogan for the country, Ravenhiem Above All, a call that all members of the country look not just to themselves but to their countrymen as a whole.
Greed very much is still alive among the nobility but it is not as visible as it once was or is in other parts of the world, and the estates of these nobles are far less extravagant.

Life for the Peasantry

Improving. Morale is getting better too after the war. Most see themselves as a citizen just like any other and for once, the average citizen of Ravenhiem believes that their voice is heard and their vote in the world matters.
An improving economy has helped as well as access to things as essential as food and water are opened once more.

Facts & Lore

Emperor L30 was created directly by Phentoghast and for this reason believes himself to be in the "bloodline" to rule. This was a cornerstone of his campaign to be elected to rule by the noble houses.
Hattar, the Archmage of Ravenhiem, was also created by Phentoghast. It is believed Hattar has all of the memories of Phentoghast himself.
There is a hall of empty paintings in the Castle at Lenzbourg. This is the source of the first Inklings created by Abderron and Phentoghast. The nobility have elected to leave them in place as a reminder of what magics can do, and what a leader may do in secret right in front of their people.

Structure

The monarch of Ravenhiem is still referred to as "Emperor" though this is more out of custom now than any reference to an aspiring empire. Ravenhiem is entering into an era of peace. That said, the "Emperor" holds power like that of a king and the country has moved to be more of a fuedal state.
