Ember Hulk

The exceptionally unethical process of breeding Phoenixes devised by Magne the Liche has resulted in great piles of ash and char with no apparent use or purpose. When fresh, hot ash and cinders are added to large enough piles, the pile may spontaneously become possessed by the vengeful spirits of many hundreds of immolated birds and become a being known as an Ember Hulk. There is some debate as to whether Ember Hulks are Undead Constructs or Wraithes.
Ember Hulks take the form of vaguely avian shaped swirling clouds of ash and smoke with a glowing core of hot embers and cinders. Vengeful and angry by nature, they smoulder with a primal hatred for the Liche that they hold responsible for their formation and are likely to lash out at unfamiliar faces. As insubstantial as smoke, objects that haven't been Silvered pass right through Ember Hulks almost as if they aren't even there, leaving only ripples and eddies from their passing.
