Mhiri (Mih-hee-ree)

CW: The following content contains mentions of the use of Fantasy/Fictional Drugs and Alcohol. Reader discretion is advised if you as a reader wish to proceed despite feeling uncomfortable with the topic. Stay Safe!   Where Rugiv is the Celestial Being of all that is good, Mhiri is the celestial being of all that is bad.   Often compared to a real-world version of the Christian Satan, Mhiri's worshippers worship it for various reasons. Those that genuinely believe Mhiri is real worship it in fear and desperation that should it destroy the universe, they will be spared in his wrath. Those that doubt the existence of something so evil but still worship Mhiri do it either to mock the worshippers of Rugiv or to take advantage of the cultists. Either way, all worshippers of Mhiri are very good at following its desires.   Mhiri often uses less passive and safe methods of talking to its worshippers. Mhiri uses forms of intoxication like alcohol and drugs to manipulate the minds of its followers and uses this to tell its worshippers what it wants directly. However, probably to instill the fear of uncertainty in others, Mhiri only does this when the worshippers gather in secretive places.   From what the worshippers preach, Mhiri demands the following from its followers.
  • Treating everyone as below you and worth less than you
  • Manipulation
  • Taking Advantage of Others
  • Acting on Reckless Abandon
Mhiri also encourages abusing power, starting wars, ruining relationships, and various other evil acts in its name.   Mhiri's worshippers have developed a system to sustain Mhiri and its desires. Most of its worshippers have formed a faction of space-faring pirates, allowing them to override ships, take prisoners, kill as they please, and steal. All of which would make for a very satisfied Mhiri. Worshippers also look for people that would qualify under Rugiv's "Evil Deeds" criteria to recruit into their cult.   Mhiri's worshippers also believe that Mhiri is the rightful creator of Starborne and reason that because of the destructive nature of stars in general, only a creation that not only goes against the peaceful acceptance of death but also can and will hurt itself and others around it at the same time would be a spawn of Mhiri.
