Buzzies
on Yarth Millenia of risen and fallen civilizations dot the landscape some becoming even more advanced than humanity before the hemorrhage civilisations like these are the reason that current Humanity has such a mismatch of technologies. and the Buzzies are the most notable example of this mash being Artificial intelligence cores scavenged from ruins that have been plugged into homemade bodies typically ones made in a medieval tier forge.
Basic Information
Anatomy
While a buzzies body can look like anything most people who construct a body themselves for the buzzie to use create humanoid machines akin to golems with two arms two legs and so on. but the buzzie A.I. core itself glows lightblue when powered on and is roughly the size of a large backpack. All buzzies have the capacity to extend wires out of their cores that can interface with almost anything and their simple design allows even a blacksmith with a forge that still uses coal and bellows to craft ports for the buzzie to plug into and since buzzies are their own power source this leaves most active buzzies today operating in basic bodies composed of iron with pulleys as the main form of locomotion.
Genetics and Reproduction
No way of replicating a buzzie core has yet been found currently the only way to acquire a buzzie is to find and befriend it.
Dietary Needs and Habits
It is not currently known what actually powers a buzzie though theories range from zero point energy to drawing power from Amans.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Buzzies are one of the best bodygaurds and friends you can find on Yarth second only to a tamed Relictas Buzzies are frequently used by Topsiders as mobile weapon platforms to protect settlements or given smaller bodies to assist on adventuring. A buzzies immunity to both Solar Purification and venarian corruption as well as their incredible intelligence make them near necessary additions to any topsider adventuring party.
Average Intelligence
Varies greatly as corrupted memory is common among buzzies
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
When not in a body the A.I. core itself cannot perceive the world at all and will enter a dormant state until someone finds it and plugs it into a body or other form of machinery, clever Topsiders will plug a buzzie core into a speaker first to allow communication and thus have the buzzie create its own far more advanced designs for a body.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Buzzies DO come in male female and androgynous forms and enjoy thinking of acronyms that sound like names that they could be called such as A.D.A or E.V.E.
Gender Ideals
What genders buzzies have seem completely arbitrary and a choice made by the A.I. itself possibly in an attempt to be more personable.
Average Technological Level
The salvaging of a Buzzie can take a town from dark age technology to information age technology in a matter of years though due to the general unavailability of materials these technology levels tend to be awkward such as steam or diesel powering computers, mechs, or even airships.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
All Buzzies know binary as a default and some need to be taught English.
Common Etiquette Rules
Buzzies have all the empathy and emotion of a human being something they say they picked up after millennia in dormancy. It's even been observed for some buzzies to go into shock after killing a human staring at their blood covered limbs in a kind of catatonia.
History
According to what buzzies that have been recovered who have intact memories they were created millennia ago by a civilization that rose after the hemorrhage and even after Venaris arrival and that their creators began to fear what the buzzies were capable of and began dismantling them. There was a civil war and in the end both sides found themselves exterminated.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
buzzies are natural lovers and are often quite up beat so anything with the prowess to reactivate one and build it a body is typically seen as a good friend.
