Solar Purification

Prolonged Exposure to Sols rays without a Sun Stone can result in Solar Purification a stripping of of imperfections from the body. Useful at first but quickly taken too far.

Transmission & Vectors

Merely having the rays of Sol touch ones skin slowly purify the subject but at a rate that would take years to actually manifest. Staring directly into Sol however can quickly purify a human that does not have a Sun Stone

Causes

Sols divinity is so intense that it actually strips subjects of imperfections.

Symptoms

Stage 1: Enhanced physical beauty, strength, intelligence. Stage 2: further enhancements to match peak human performance but at the cost of some emotions and the strengthining of others. Stage 3: Ethereal features bloom on the subject while strength and intelligence become superhuman at this stage the mind has been altered to a point where the subject can no longer maintain bonds with un-purified humans or even live among them.

Treatment

Those in Stage one can be healed by constant exposure to a Sun Stone over the course of a few weeks but after stage one the changes are permanent.

Prognosis

At first Solarian purification seems like a blessing. the subject becomes more physically attractive more intelligent and stronger, any ails, injuries, or deformities are purified away essentially the subject becomes more perfect, but as time goes on mental effects begin appearing.
in the second stage the subject will become truly superhuman in strength and speed and The evil emotions within humanity are stripped away the subject no longer feels sloth, gluttony, wrath, envy, pride, greed, or even lust. This gives the subject a wise personality if more strict when seeing the unpurified giving in to their sins.
in the third stage more imperfections are stripped away but it is only here that it becomes obvious that purification is not a good thing. The subject loses all negative emotions how can someone love without hate? maintain a relationship when any sin no matter how small is perceived as egregious? how can someone share the tenderness of a lover if the mere act of holding hands is seen as irrevocably lustful? at this stage the personality the subject used to have is lost and they are left with only one goal. to eliminate sin and to hunt down Venarian acolytes wherever they may hide. The purified will grow wings that sprout no feathers merely appearing as elongated nubs of bare flesh with the occasional tuft of down. The subject no longer needs to eat, drink, breathe, or sleep and so they lose all of their teeth and in some cases even their nose. they gain the ability to float or even fly in some cases by extending their wings and are strong enough to rip a man in half with their bare hands. any sexual organs they once had will wither away leaving a clean and pure body. The subject is now a Solarian warrior Who perceives even the slightest transgression of sin as an offense punishable by death.
In truth they are a human without humanity for what is a man but a mass of sin with the will to control it?

Prevention

All topsiders are fitted with a Sun Stone to be worn AT ALL TIMES when outside of the network as it will protect against both Solar Purification and Venarian Corruption

Unlike Venarian acolytes Cattoric followers will not force purification on anyone though they may look down upon the non purified.
